Hello all! I too have been in the long term care biz for over 20 years, first as a nurses aide (no certification required back then) when I was 13 and then on to Activity Director at 18 (I am almost 40 now) The changes I have noticed are similar to what you have already stated - an increase in recognizing dignity and quality of life of our residents and the down side definitely being the increase in paperwork. But I am very proud to say how long I have been doing this and although sometimes I long for the "outside" world, I honestly can't imagine doing anything else.
