: Hi-Just wondering if anyone is doing a mock election. We are going to try this-we've made voting ballots that have the presidential candidates, the two most newsworthy local issues on them, as we've heard these issues over and over again in our Morning Circle where we read the paper daily.

: Voters circle their choices, and place the mock ballots into a red, white and blue box which has a slot cut into the top. Each "voter" will receive a flag sticker, in place of the "I voted today" stickers which are given out at the voting precinct.

: We'll have an American Flag at the voting table, red, white and blue decorations at the tables, patriotic parfaits for lunch and lots of presidential trivia throughout the day, perhaps a patriotic sing along.

: At the end of the sessions, we'll tally the votes and announce the winners. Has anybody tried this and if so, am I on the right track with this? I don't want to make it so simple that it's degrading, but I want everyone to be able to participate who chooses to do so. I recently helped my dad with his absentee ballot, and boy was it ever difficult!

You did of course make arrangements for residents to vote in the real election, I hope. If you do the "mock" election, why not include the staff, volunteers and visitors. I would be careful about handing out stickers unless they actually cast their votes in the real election.
