Here's what I would do, if the facility insisted that we continue to give out balloons, I would contact a florist and buy the already inflated balloons from them. After a couple of months one of two things would happen....either the ADM would say we can't afford this stop, or you would get the proper helium tank. Either way a decision would be made. As for the parties, there again I am sure there is a florist nearby who could use the business, maybe you could buy the balloons through the facility and they would sell you the helium.....
We used to give out balloons to residents for their birthdays but it got to be a nightmare! Especially on the weekends and holidays.....So when we stopped, no one missed them. We now give out cards and a carnation. We do have a helium tank attched to a storeroom wall and actually even the NEW Maintence guy hasn't a clue that it's there! Hasn't even asked and we had balloons for his welcome party! It's brown and we get it from the same place we get the 02......go figure! I am sure that its just a matter of time.
