I usually scheduled a punch and cookies open house that day. As people come and go, they can ehlp themselves, this requires the kitchen staff to check it periodically to be sure there are cookies and punch avail but otherwise it is simple, carols on a CD player ( invest in a 5 loader it runs for hours!) I have also had special screenings of Christmas Movies like Its A Wonderful Life on Christmas Day with refreshments like cocoa and a candy cane and popcorn. Family members who drop in enjoy watching this with them. You can ask family members to bring home videos of Christmas's past, and bill it as " A Christmas Blast From The Past" It is fun to see our residents from years back! I made Christmas Trivia Crossword, and Puzzle sheets available for them in a pretty basket with a Christmas mug full of sharpened pencils nearby. A large Christmas Puzzle to be worked Christmas week as a group effort is a fun project. I liked to leave it on a small card table ready at a moments notice to be worked on in odd moments. ( staff will even drop in a piece or two). Hope some of these hints are useful. Bunny
