It is not necessarily a bad thing. I've had other residents try to wake them up, but I have a personal policy of NOT waking someone up, simply because it's time to do this or do that. Whatever we are doing can wait until later for that particular resident. This is also a good way to gage how a new act. is or isn't working. Obviously, if they are ALL asleep or not paying attention, then your program needs a change.

I had a resident fall asleep during our Hymn Sing and quietly expire. The first thing anyone notised was the loss of his urine all over the floor. After that we were told to keep them awake or take them back to the floor. I think it may have been his time, but the other residents were very upset when they figured out what had happened.
