I had several men at the Veteran's home who fit your description. Men tend to find that being paid is the onlu true validation of an activity. We had a very supportive guardian who would pay to have her guys in a "sheltered workshop", where she actually paid the nominal wage they got. Workshop projects ranged from making wooden cars to putting nuts and bolts together and dropping in a container.
: I'm sure that you asked what he did hobby when he was younger. Why not tap into those things. What about large piece games or sports equipment, picture puzzels that are large pieces. Maybe what ever he did as a career will insterest him. We have a bank president and she will do anything with numbers.
