: Yes, I agree and I hate it too! It is either I keep up with all the paper work or I keep the resident happy with great activities. If I am out there being hands on w/ my residents, my charting gets behind, if I am up todatew/ my charts then my activities suffer. It is really for the state and we need to reduce it, especially the participation logs. Participation logs are a waste of time in my opinion. A well written progress note should be enough. If we are really out there providing great programs we do not have time for logging every residents activity participation. Progress notes are essential and the assessments but not participation records, which hardlyany one ever looks at. The state wants proof but we all know this is not an good tool. Erika,ADC
Quite a few years ago, one of the applicants for a job we had open offered to take the role of paperwork specialist. She had just finished the Activity Director class, so she was really on top of the latest requirements. I wish that I had taken her up on it, but I chose someone with strong activiy and people skills.
