I'd agree. Would I have loved to have been able to take the residents outdoors nearly any day.
We had a "sheltered workshop" where residents did parts of the job of making wooden toys. They were cut out by residents in indepentant living, and our folks sanded, varnished or oiled and put the wheel assemblies on. They went to a couple of transision centers for homeless families locally, or to a program the Elks group sponsored.
We had another group that made "cookie cutter" rag dolls. They cut out, stuffed and closed the dolls. depending on their skills. A lady from IL came in to sew the seams on the machine. Some of those went to the shelters, the Elks or to the fire dept. for use with kids involved in fires or accidents.
