Many of the catalogs have one called Penny Ante.
There are cards with things like, "If you have ever owned a dog, collect one penny form the kitty" or "If you are the oldest, colect one penny from each player" and stuff like that. Most pennys at the end wins, but the getting to know one another is the best part. We used plastic bingo markers for pennys.
Another good game was called Tyrolian Roulette. It is a wooden board with marbles. You try to kick the marbles into the highest scoring slots by spinning a top.
