We recently began a Ladies' Circle that meets weekly at our adult day center. We have joined the Red Hat Society which is a community based group for women over 50 and the goal is to have fun! They have a great web site www.redhatsociety.com) Our Red hats meet monthly as part of the Ladies' Circle.

Last week a representative from the Pampered Chef came and did a demonstration of kitchen products that were mostly unfamiliar to us (cherry pitter)or an improvement on an older concept (juicer with rubber on the bottom so it won't slide around while working).

We are also putting together a cookbook booklet. We have scanned old and new recipe books for recipes, gathered some cooking tips and advertised within the center for staff and members to submit recipes. I type them into the computer and the ladies edit and proofread, select clipart and decide the general layout.

The ladies decide what they would like to do, I gather the supplies they request. It is run by another staff member so it is more like a special group. If a speaker comes in (next month our local Pilot Dog Program will be in), I make sure the program is known to be hosted by the Ladies' Circle. We have had a lot of fun!
