Contact other nursing homes in your area and see if they have stuff they don't need. Now is the time to offer your services for cleaning out their store rooms. I did this for an adult home I worked at that had no money for activities and boy I got tons of stuff. Also contact your local library and ask if they have a donation list. Tell them that you will take anything. See if you have volunteers that go to Garage Sales, they can pick up a lot of donations for you. I also swapped with other facilities via the bulletin boards for activities folks like this one. We swapped fall leaves with a facility in Florida for shells and sand for craft projects. I would bet that there are a lot of folks out there that would swap with you. Just let me know what you need and if I have extra we will swap!
