I don't know where you live, but lots of places have an organization called Hands on _____. (Ie in Atlanta, its Hands on Atlanta, or in Charlotte its Hands on Charlotte). This organization recruits volunteers for you--they have a large crop of volunteers and they like to have lots of sites where they can go. That might be a good way. Also, talk to the high school TEACHERS in the area. Or what about church groups, or your local girl scout council or boy scout troops? Or what about the volunteer coordinators at your local colleges? Also, many private schools have volunteer requirements--you might want to check that out as well!
