: Can anyone help me with activity and decoration ideas on a very low budget?

We look through the catalogs and see if any of the items can be made by us. We have done this with a number of items and the cost has been half to three fourths the cost of the catalog item. We have had volunteers help us with the construction of some of the items that we did not have the skills to complete. Check out the dollar store, flea markets, rummage sales for items that can be used for decorations or for an activity. To cut down the cost on decorations, start to stockpile decorations that can be used over and over. We have decorations that are themed for the month and are used each year. Some the residents made, some were made by volunteers and others were bought at very cheap prices. It takes some digging and looking, but from my own experience it can be done. I am always on the look out for activity items, even on vacation. Good Luck
