(outdoor)Decorations should include an assortment of snow people and/or ice sculptures. An Ice palace may not be possible, but how about a partly below grade igloo? The refreshments should be hot. Hot Chocolate, hot coffee, hot pie ala mode, and chestnuts roasting on an open fire.

Speaking of open fires, a wood fire in one of those new fire cages would be very welcoming, just post a staff member there to make sure no one falls or rolls into the fire pit. If you have somevery able residents, you might even flood the lawn for ice skating, but have some volunteers who actually know how to skate to help A LOT. If you can find someone who can provide them, sleigh rides would be super.
