I just read a message about someone starting up an exercise called Cane Hockey. Well, we have been playing Cane Hockey for several years now (at least 15!) I agree! The residents LOVE IT! And they are VERY competitive!! (that's putting it mildly! It is a great male oriented activity but some of the ladies like it too! We even have a cheerleading squad! We have a 'season opener' game in May at the Hockey Hall of Fame, try to travel to other homes throughout the summer and have a tournament at the local VFW in August in which 6 area nursing homes have competed. It is a blast! We were even highlighted in the Octover 2002 issue of National Geographic Magazine in the article called Final Edit.
