: : We frequently have an activity at 1:30, after lunch. Residents will want to come to the activity but are put to bed becasue "they have bad bottoms"!!!! I have discussed this with the DON and asked, rather than get these residents up so early before lunch, to leave them in bed until almost lunch time, that way they are up the same amount of time and get to attend the activity. I may as well ask for the moon.
: : I have been very spoiled over the years. I have always worked in facilities with excellent cooperation between the nursing and activity staff. It just doesn't seem to be happening here. Almost tempted to put in residents progress note, "goal not met due to lack of cooperation from nursing staff" Of course, I am a professional and would never do such a thing. Thanks for letting me vent.

: Ann, I'm with you, maybe if we put it on the progress notes just like that, It would wake the nurses up. I wouldn't do that butttttt!!! Rita
We schedule our afternoon activities at 2:30 or 3:00. This gives our Residents a chance to have a nap after lunch and still come to activities. They are happy, nursing is happy and we are happy.
